About Me

My name is Jessica Pollack, and I'm a writer, dancer, choreographer, and stage manager based in New York City.  After interning at The Late Show With David Letterman, my varied career backstage and onstage has taken me from assisting Eartha Kitt backstage (Coolest girl day ever: having brunch, getting our nails done, and going shoe shopping with this magnificent woman) to having dinner backstage at Lincoln Center with Rhoda and Mrs. Cunningham (amazing women both) to getting career advice backstage from Kathleen Chalfant (don't get stuck stage managing and wake up one day saying, "I wish I had...") to spending three months on a plane with Liam Neeson (I'm the head-turning Lego 1m37sec into this trailer: http://bit.ly/1Skj6gr) to dancing in The Gaslight Anthem's "Rollin' and Tumblin'" music video (even in 90 degree temps with full skeleton paint and fake snow, magical and awesome), to many more adventures.  I've danced with Central Indiana Dance Ensemble, American Liberty Ballet, and Hysterika Jazz Dance, performed in the New York Jazz Choreography Project, choreographed a few music videos, had my choreography presented in the Aries In Flight Choreography Showcase, was Assistant Director/ Assistant Choreographer for the New York premiere of Warpspeed: A Sci-Fi Parody Musical at the Midtown International Theatre Festival (mastering the dive-and-roll to avoid evil aliens), and wrote and directed the short play Pickup for the Midtown International Theatre Festival Short Play Lab, 2016.  I recently wrote my first novel and am currently working on my second.  One day I want to be a Batman villain and a Bond girl. Or a Bond villain and a Batman girl. Preferably a Bond villain girl in a Batman crossover movie.  And I want to write and direct it.

Oh, and I write.  Every day.  Some of it makes it onto this blog.
